Jack E. Seevers – Age 76
Born April 9th, 1946 to Robert and Helen (Morrison) Seevers in Zanesville, OH. He succumbed to cancer after a hard fought battle and died at home on September 4, 2022 surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years Honey Mae (Wilson) Seevers. Daughters Tonya (Seevers) Billingsley & Jerry of Green Ridge, MO, Sonya (Seevers) & Pete Phillips of Hughesville, MO, Dianna (Savage) & Jason Burns of Granville, OH. Son Dean Savage & Danielle Bellew of St. Johns, FL. Grandchildren Jonathan DuBois, Madison Billingsley, Amber & Ashton Asbury, Sarah Savage, Autumn Ridgeway, Jennie Jones, Jill & Shawna Billingsley, Alexandra, William & Jacob Phillips. Great Grandchildren Kinsley DuBois, Kai Savage, Katlynn, Kora & DJ Jones. Brother David & Cheryl Seevers of Roseville, OH. Brother in law Dave Sherfy of Zanesville, OH and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents Robert & Helen Seevers, Son Donald “Chuck” Savage. Brothers Bill & Bobby Seevers, Sister Mary Lou (Seevers) Sherfy. Special Father figure Emmett Mauller & Best Friend Terry Crawford.
Jack attended Maysville High School until serving in the United States Army. He was a 100% disabled and decorated USATC Engineer Army Veteran. He served in the Vietnam War earning multiple commendations to include the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Medal and was an expert marksman. Jack retired in 2001 after 20 years of service with the City of Zanesville at the Sewage Treatment Plant as Maintenance Supervisor.
Jack loved his family and tried to experience life to the fullest. He loved to fish and spent much of his younger years seeking the ever evasive trophy shovel head catfish on the Muskingum River. He was passionate about restoring old muscle cars and woodworking. Jack enjoyed listening to loud music and gathering with friends and family. He will be missed by many.
Friends and family may call from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 6:00pm-8:00pm Thursday, September 8, 2022 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271Blue Avenue, Zanesville, OH where service will be held at 11:00am Friday, September 9, 2022 with Chaplin Tim Patton. He will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery, Zanesville with full military honors being accorded to him by the United States Army and the VFW George Selsam Post 1058.
