Jack S. Spangler

Jack S. Spangler, 69, of Zanesville, died at 5:29 A.M. on Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born August 10, 1943, in Zanesville, a son of the late Orville "Jack" Jr. and Alice V. Wooley Spangler. He was a United States Marine; he worked 22 years as a winder for McGraw Edison, and was a member of American Legion Post #29. Jack was also an avid musician, and was the vocalist for the Coachmen Band and the Joe City Band. Surviving are his wife Joy Spangler, whom he married July 10, 1971; two daughters, Tammy (Jim) Morse of Carroll, OH and Charlene (Lonnie) Norris of Duncan Falls; a son Adam Spangler of Zanesville; three grandchildren, John, Blake, and Eric; three brothers, Thomas W. (Pam) Spangler of Roseville, Bill (Jeane) Spangler of South Zanesville, and Tony (Barb) Spangler of South Zanesville; several nieces and nephews; and mother-in-law Betty Foraker of South Zanesville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Lee Spangler. Friends and family may call from 2:00-4:00 P.M. and 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Friday, October 26, 2012, at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, where funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, October 27, 2012 with Pastor Larry Diamond and Pastor Chuck Gamble officiating. He will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the U.S. Marine Corps in conjunction with VFW George Selsam Post 1058.
