James Bryan Argabrite, of Frazeysburg, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2021, after a short hospital stay at Genesis Hospital, Zanesville. He was born April 27, 1957, in Wooster, a son of the late James Argabrite. In addition to his father, James is preceded in death by his second wife, Rebecca, and his step-father Ronald Burch.
James leaves behind his loving mother, Carolyn; his daughter, Samantha (Joe) Thompson of Ontario, Canada; two grandsons, Justin Argabrite and Wyatt Thompson; a sister, Sue (Brad) Dye; three step-brothers, Russel (Carmen) Burch, Jeff Burch, and Brian Burch; and three nieces and a nephew.
James lived a varied and colorful life. As a young man his adventures started while attending Belpre High School in southeast Ohio, included service in the United States Army, and saw him live in many places around the United States and abroad. This allowed him to engage with a multitude of people that helped form who he was. In later years, his adventures were tempered by health issues. There are a couple lines from The Piano Man that sums him up – “And he's quick with a joke or to light up your smoke, but there's someplace that he'd rather be.” Now that James’s essence has left his earthly vessel, he is free to wander again.
Per his wishes, cremation has been chosen. A private family memorial service in James’s honor will be held later this year.
