James Frank Bumpus, 78, of Zanesville, went home to be with his Lord at 1:25 P.M. on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, while in care of hospice at the Oaks of Bethesda, Zanesville. He was born July 2, 1939, in Cumberland Furnace, TN, a son of the late Clarence Henry and Bessie Hamm Bumpus. He is a retired Reclamation Foreman for Central Ohio Coal Company and headed up the Central Ohio Coal Retirement Breakfast for many years. Frank was a member of Westwood Baptist Church and enjoyed golfing and spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids. He is survived by his wife of fifty seven years, Shirley A. Moore Bumpus, of the home; two daughters, Tracey (Don) Humphrey of Zanesville and Tonya (Mark) Shrigley of Columbus; two grandsons, Zachary (Cassie) Humphrey and Zane (Katie) Humphrey; a granddaughter, Karrington Shrigley; great-grandchildren, Cade, Ollie and Piper Humphrey, and JJ, Adyan, and Meeka Sweat; siblings, Dell (Charles) Clark of Zanesville, Hank (Gale) Bumpus of West Palm Beach FL, David (Carol) Bumpus of Cunningham TN; and a brother-in-law, Harold (Jean) Hayes of Clarksville TN. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde and Ross Bumpus; and two sisters, Jewell Hayes and Jean Kreaske. Honoring Franks wishes, no calling hours and no service will be held. A Cremation-With-Care will take place.
