James Norton Butler, of Zanesville, died at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 14, 2007 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born April 7, 1938, in Zanesville, the son of the late James H. and Mary Gill Butler. Jim was a 34 year employee at Buckeye Welding & Supply Co., a member of the Fair Oaks Baptist Church and was a Past Master of Irville Masonic Lodge #184. Surviving are a daughter, Penny (Greg) Kincheloe of Zanesville; a son Shawn (Pam) Butler of Zanesville; a sister, Beverly (Bill) Parsons of Zanesville; four grandchildren, Britney, Jodie, McKinzey and Laken Butler; a great granddaughter, Kailyn Cash and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Grandstaff Butler, who died March 21, 1996. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at the funeral home with the Rev. Carl R. Finley officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Irville Masonic Lodge # 184 will hold services at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
