James F. Carney, age 72, of Zanesville, Ohio, died at 9:37 p.m. Monday, December 19, 2005 at the Genesis Good Samaritan Medical Center. He was born September 30, 1933 in Zanesville, the son of the late Herbert and Juanita Phillips Carney. Jim was employed by AK Steel for 44 years where he was a roller on the Z-Mill prior to his retirement. He was a member of the First Christian Church, a member of the Masonic Lodge of Amity # 5 F & AM and a member of the Elk's Lodge # 114. Surviving are his wife, Gloria Marlene Carney (Married 8/20/1954) of the home, one daughter Lisa Ferguson of Zanesville, three sons, J.Michael (Leesia) Carney of Dayton, Brent A. (Marlene) Carney of Baltimore Ohio, and Gregory S. (Erin) Carney of Zanesville. Two sisters, Sharon E. Miller of So. Zanesville, and Marianne Michel of Zanesville. Six Grandchildren, Rhiannon Carney, Jeremiah and Sarah Ferguson, Emily Carney, Brent Carney 11, and Hailee Carney. A Mother in-law, Hallie Alexander of Zanesville. A Sister in-law, Donna Coleman of Columbus Ohio. A brother in-law George Alexander Jr. of New Port Ritchie, FL. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Larry Carney. Friends may call 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 Thursday, December 22, 2005 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1271 Blue Ave. Zanesville, Ohio Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 23, 2005 at the funeral home with the Rev. Dawn Remster officiating. A caring cremation will follow. Lodge of Amity # 5 F & AM will hold services at the funeral home at 5:45 p.m. Thursday.
