James T. DiVincenzo, 89, of Zanesville, died at 10:10 a.m. Monday, April 14, 2008 at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House. He was born April 14, 1919, in Maureen, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Domenic and Angelina D'Orazio DiVincenzo. He was a milkman and was a retired supervisor for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, New Hope Full Gospel Church, VFW George Selsam Post #1058 and a lifetime member of American Legion Post #29. He was a WWII Army Veteran and an avid golfer. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Pollice DiVincenzo, whom he married September 6, 1941, of the home; a daughter, Rosemarie (Fred) Zediak of Greenwood, South Carolina; two sons, Rodger (Donna) DiVincenzo of Greensburg, Pennsylvania and Pastor Joseph (Ruth) DiVincenzo of Zanesville; eight grandchildren, Lisa Corbett, Eric Zediak, Jennifer (Adam) King, Jason (Shannon) DiVincenzo, Joseph (Tiffany) DiVincenzo, Jonathan DiVincenzo, Steven DiVincenzo and Christine DiVincenzo; four great-grandchildren, Anthony Corbett, Nicholas Corbett, Luke DiVincenzo and Issac DiVincenzo; a sister, Helen Soforza of California and a brother, Albert (Rose) DiVincenzo of Dearborn, Michigan. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony DiVincenzo and four sisters, Mary Soforza, Elva Sylvestri, Ann Dettore and Lena Izzi. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at the New Hope Full Gospel Church, 3560 East Pike, Zanesville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2008 at the St. Thomas Catholic Church, 144 N 5th St., Zanesville with Father Emmanuel Bertrand as celebrant. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2008 at the New Hope Full Gospel Church, 3560 East Pike, Zanesville with the Pastor Joseph DiVincenzo officiating. Burial with full military honors being conducted with the U.S. Army in conjunction with VFW George Selsam Post #1058 will be held at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery. Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville are entrusted with all arrangements.
