James L. Eck, 80, of Chandlersville, went home to be with his Lord at 4:50 p.m. Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House. He was born January 30, 1929, in Zanesville, a son of the late Erhardt and Bula Lyons Eck. He retired in 1988 as a Vocational AG Teacher for the Muskingum Area Joint Vocational School and was also a dairy farmer. He was a member of the Maranatha Bible Church and the Muskingum County Farm Bureau. He was a United States Army Korean Conflict Veteran. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Addaleen Bradford Eck, whom he married December 26, 1959, of the home; three sons, Jon Eck of Chandlersville, Michael Eck of Orlando, Florida and Robert Eck of Chandlersville; four sisters, Evelyn (Eugene) Mock of Chandlersville, Florence (Charles) Klein of Otsego, Martha (Kinsey) Tanner of Zanesville and Beverly (Jerry) Cramer of Columbus; a brother, Richard (Yvonne) Eck of Chandlersville; 5 grandchildren, Tara (Robert) Watson, Melissa (Brad) Pletcher, James Eck, Chris and Justin Eck; 3 great grandchildren, Emma Miller, Rylan Watson and Bella Pletcher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie Shell. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday, September 25, 2009 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 26, 2009 at the Maranatha Bible Church, 2400 Chandlersville Rd., Zanesville with Rev. L. Dale McCallister officiating. Burial will follow at Chandlersville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Maranatha Bible Church, 2400 Chandlersville Rd., Zanesville, Ohio, 43701.
