James Floyd Felumlee Jr. 92, of Zanesville, died 4:48am of Wednesday December 22, 2021 at Genesis Hospital, Zanesville after a short illness. He was born August 22, 1929, in Zanesville, a son of the late James Floyd Sr. and Mary Catherine Fulkerson Felumlee. He was a United States Army Veteran where he served two years active duty and thirty-one years as a reserve, a member of the LaFayette Lodge #79 F&AM and he was the former president of Riverside Airport. Floyd also was a member of Ohio Retired Teachers Association, Retired Teachers Association, Muskingum County Retired Teachers Association, Limestone Valley Lions Club, American Philatelic, Exchange Club and Grace United Methodist Church. He had taught school at Ohio University and was principal at Newton, Bell Elementary and Maysville Junior High School.
He is survived by two sons, Gary J. (Melissa) Felumlee and Keith A. (Lisa Ann) Felumlee; two grandchildren; Sherry Felumlee and Aaron Felumlee; three great grandchildren, Aveon, Alicia and Emerald.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Virginia Goss Felumlee.
Friends and family may call from noon till time of Celebration of Life Ceremony at 1: 00 P.M. Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE WITH Rev. Karen Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Zanesville with full military honors accorded to him by the United States Army, VFW George Selsam Post 1058 and American Legion Post 29.
