James L. Gibson

June 4, 1942 — February 11, 2005

James L. Gibson, 62, of Zanesville died Friday, February 11, 2005 at Genesis Good Samaritan emergency room. Jim gave the gift of life as an organ donor. He was born June 4, 1942 at Zanesville a son of the late Ivory and Betty McPherson Gibson. He retired from Meritor in 1998 where he worked on the main Axel line. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in Vietnam, he was a life member of the American Legion Post 29.Jim loved his children and grandchildren dearly. Surviving are his loving companion, Wanda Farley of Zanesville, three daughters, Marcia ( Mike ) Dewitt and Terri ( Martin ) Shalosky both of Whitehall and Pamela ( Andrew ) Shalosky of Rushville, a son, Todd Gibson of Michigan, eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two sisters, Sharon ( Gary ) Lyons and Linda ( John ) Sharp both of Lancaster. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, James A. Newson and his mother-in-law, Margaret Farley. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday, February 14, 2005 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 15, 2005 at the funeral home with Chaplain Valerie Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park. VFW George Selsam Post 1058 will hold full military rites at the grave.
