James Allen Graves Sr.

James Allen Graves Sr., 67, of Zanesville, died at 10:05 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 14, 1939, in Dresden, a son of the late Wilbur and Marie McDonald Graves. He was a tankerman for Valero Energy. Surviving are his wife, Patricia Pennington Graves, whom he married January 22, 1977, of the home; a daughter, Angie (Ralph) Spires and a son, James Allen Graves Jr., both of Zanesville; five grandchildren; a great grandson; special nieces and special nephews, Samantha ( Robert) Puterbaugh, Sharon Riley, Ronald (Phyllis) Riley, all of Zanesville and Jerry (Dianna) McConaha of Bangor, Maine; two sisters, Helen Genest of Waterville, Maine and Anna (Jim) Brelish of Canton and a sister-in-law, Irene Graves of Zanesville. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Wilbur, Louis, and Frank Graves and a sister, Rhea McConaha. No calling hours will be held. The Graves family has chosen Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville to be entrusted with all arrangements.
