James L. Labaki, 71, of Zanesville, died at 5:22 P.M. on Monday, November 12, 2012 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born January 18, 1941, in Zanesville, a son of the late Charles and Anna Morosco Labaki. James was the owner of the Maysville Discount Center for 30 years, and was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of American Legion Post #29, and enjoyed painting, wood carving, and making decoy ducks. Surviving are his beloved wife of 43 years, Sandy K. Warne Labaki, whom he married November 1, 1969; two daughters, Kim Scheffler of Crooksville and Angela (Mark) Bednarczuk of Duncan Falls; three sons, James (Julie) Labaki of Zanesville, Thomas (Stacey) Labaki of Zanesville, and Christopher Labaki of Zanesville; fifteen grandchildren; one great grandchild; two brothers, Joe Labaki of Zanesville and Jon (Sue) Labaki of Zanesville; three sisters, Shirley Burton of Zanesville, Nancy Labaki of Zanesville, and Ginger (Greg) Patterson of Newark; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and his beloved pet Ringo. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Labaki. Friends and family may call from 2:00-4:00 P.M. and 6:00-8:00 P.M. with a vigil service at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 15, 2012, at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, November 16, 2012, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 144 North 5th Street, Zanesville, with a Dominican Father as celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Zanesville, where full military honors will be conducted by the United States Army in conjunction with VFW George Selsam Post #1058.
