James J. Labaki

James "Jay" J. Labaki, 43, of Zanesville, died on Friday, February 28, 2014, at his home. He was born September 12, 1970, in Zanesville, a son of Sandy K. Warne Labaki of Zanesville and the late James L. Labaki. He had worked as a basket weaver for Longaberger for 16 years and also as a millworker at Jeld-Wen. Jay was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan, loved playing softball, and enjoyed bowling. Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife Julie Orwig Labaki, whom he married June 18, 2005; two daughters, Jessica (Christopher) Dement and Jaylyn Labaki; a grandson Christopher Dement; two sisters, Kim Scheffler and Angela (Mark) Bednarczuk; two brothers, Thomas (Stacey) Labaki and Christopher (Manda) Labaki; father-in-law and mother-in-law Ron and Kathy Orwig; brother-in-law Brent (Tammy) Orwig; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles; and many great friends. Friends and family may call from 2:00-5:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 2, 2014, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, March 3, 2014, with Pastor Dean Cole officiating. He will be laid to rest at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Zanesville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio 43701 to help defray funeral costs.
