James C. Lee

James C. Lee, 87, of Zanesville, fell on sleep and was laid unto his Father at 11:30 A.M. Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House after a sudden illness. He was born September 6, 1924 in Zanesville, a son to the late Adam and Mable Foster Lee. Jim entered the Naval Air Corp at the beginning of WWII at the age of 17 and served as a radio man second class until the war's end. Jim was awarded 2 Gold Stars for "meritorious achievement in aerial flight as an Aircrewman of the United States Naval Patrol Bomber Plane in Anti-Submarine Operations". Upon returning to Zanesville, he became a long time local businessman; the founder of Lee's Bakery and the long time owner of The Olde Falls Inn in Zanesville, before his retirement in 1992. Jim was also an avid golfer and loved to travel. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Reva A. Weinstock Lee; five children, James Lee Jr., Deborah Carroll, Barbara Mohr, Rebecca (Sonny Klimczyk) Lee, and Jeffery (Margie) Lee, all of Zanesville; two brothers, Robert Lee and Larry Lee, both of Florida; eight grandchildren, Craig Lee, Mark Lee, Michael Lee, Scott Lee, Edward Alexander, Jamie Carroll, Zachary Lee, and Cassy Lee; along with several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Jean Lee; two brothers, George Lee and John Lee; and two sisters, Elda Lee Thomas and Mary Lee Zinsmeister. A dignified cremation has taken place. Friends and family of Jim may call from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 6, 2012 (his 88th birthday) at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville.
