James R. Brown, 81, of Zanesville, died at 12:15 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2009 at Adams Lane Care Center. He was born August 18, 1927, in Newton County, Arkansas, a son of the late Doy Brown and Nora Boone Hall. He was the owner/operator and mechanic for Jim's Auto Service and later Jim's Auto and Trailer Sales. He was a United States Army Corp of Engineers World War II Veteran and was a member of Masonic Lodge #79 F&AM. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Evelyn Stegner Brown, whom he married March 7, 1947, of the home; a daughter, Betty Brown of Columbus; two half sisters; a half brother; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2009 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville, where Masonic Lodge services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Beverly Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
