James M. Spinks, 75, of Zanesville, died at 3:09 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Genesis Good Samaritan emergency room. He was born June 10, 1936, in Zanesville, a son of the late Fred and Cora Kenney Spinks. He had worked for the Downing Company, then went to work for Ray Touvell Plumbing and then retired after 15 years of service for the City of Zanesville Sewer Department. Surviving are two daughters, Janet (Guy) Hamel and Amy (Gary) Reed, both of Zanesville; two sons, Michael (Debbie) Spinks of Nashport and Patrick (Melody) Spinks of Crooksville; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Ryan, Kirby, Alicia, Amanda, Megan, Lacey and Dalton; many great grandchildren; two sisters, Norma Willis and Virginia Grandstaff, both of Zanesville; and a special cousin, Alan Mahon of South Zanesville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Kathleen Mahon Spinks, whom he married December 17, 1955 and who died February 10, 2011.
