Jay R. Pride

Jay R. Pride, 66, of Zanesville, went to be with his loving wife of 47 years, Catherine Miller Pride at 1:10 a.m. on Sunday, December 14, 2014. Jay was born May 10, 1948 in Iron Spot, OH to the late Harold and Margaret Pierce Pride. He retired as a journeyman from Brockway Glass after 35 years of service. Jay was a member of the Rolling Plains United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post 29 and the DAV. Jay faithfully served his country in Vietnam and was honored to be a U.S. Navy Veteran. Surviving are two daughters, Jennifer (Gary) West and Amber (Terry) Mealick both of Zanesville; two grandchildren, Jake (Keiara) West and Hannah West of Zanesville; a great granddaughter due to arrive in April; three brothers, Earl, Stan and George Pride; a very special sister, Linda (David) Stiers of Zanesville; and his special pet companions, Grizzy, Uppy and Dot. No calling hours or service will be observed. A dignified cremation has been arranged with the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE.
