Jean Crawmer, 91, of Zanesville, died at 12:23 A.M. on Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House. She was born June 8, 1921, in Muskingum County, a daughter of the late W. Bryce and Marjorie Osler Piper. She graduated from New Concord High School in 1939, and attended Meredith Business College in Zanesville and Bliss Business College in Columbus. Jean worked for the State of Ohio-Department of Welfare in Columbus and Zanesville, and was an active member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church where she previously served as Deacon. She was a member of the Brighton CCL, Elks Club, VFW George Selsam Post #1058, the Gratiot Garden Club, Salvation Army Ladies Auxiliary, a board member of the Easter Seals, and a volunteer at Bethesda Hospital. Surviving are a son Mark F. (Thea) Crawmer of Zanesville; two grandchildren, Marianne K. (Danny) Maxwell of Zanesville, and Kristopher M. Crawmer of Dublin; and four great grandchildren, Avery, Sydnee, Ryleigh, and Case Maxwell, all of Zanesville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clarence F. "Nick" Crawmer, who died May 7, 1982. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Jean will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 23, 2013, at Faith United Methodist Church, 1616 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, with Pastor Nancy Amos officiating. A private burial will take place at a later date at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville. Arrangements were entrusted to the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville.
