Jeffrey Lynn Rapol, 65, of Zanesville, died at 9:50 A.M. on Sunday, August 9, 2015, at the Cedar Hill Care Center with his wife and Priest by his side. Jeff had battled ALS since 2008. He was born January 8, 1950, in Zanesville. A son of the late Donald and Onda Buxton Rapol. Jeff was a graduate of Rosecrans High School and as a child he was an altar boy with his other two brothers at St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Jeff graduated from Ohio State University with a BS Degree in Civil Engineering. He was employed with the US Federal Government in Washington D.C. Jeff retired from the FAA with 29 years of service. In his spare time he owned and worked at Riverside Café in Zanesville. Riverside Café had been in the Rapol family since 1958. Jeff was a very loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and a friend to all he knew. Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Robin Sue Biggum Rapol; a daughter, Melissa (Steve) Rhodes of SC; a son, Rodney (Alexandra) Morrison III of VA; six grandchildren, Trey Morrison, Allyson Sims, Christian Rhodes, Nathan Rhodes, Chloe Rhodes and Rodney Morrison IV; two brothers, Donald (Lori) Rapol of FL and Steve Rapol of Zanesville; three nephews, Jerry Rapol, Michael Rapol and Cody Rapol. Friends and family may call from 11:00 A.M. till the time of service at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 with Father Martin Ralko officiating at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE. He will be laid to rest at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Zanesville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the ALS Association: Gift Processing Center, PO Box 6051, Albert Lea, MN 56007.
