Jennie E. (Dunn) Rasor

Jennie Eileen (Dunn) Rasor, 81, of Zanesville, OH passed away peacefully at 10:03 A.M. on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at her home.

She was born February 4, 1943, to Hazel F. and George E. Dunn. Jennie retired from Sears & Roebuck Company in 1988 and volunteered for many years at Good Samaritan, and later Genesis Hospitals. In her retirement, she was an avid gardener, cook, and caregiver to her grandchildren. She devoted herself to caring for and nurturing her family.

Jennie was active with the Adamsville Homemakers and the Adamsville Community Council. She enjoyed her neighbors and friends in the Adamsville Road Farm Bureau Council.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Rasor, whom she married October 9, 1961, and who passed away June 12, 1995. She was also preceded in death by her brother Roy E. Dunn.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Tamera (Lee) Brown, Christina (Scott) Kirkbride and Timothy (Tricia) Rasor; grandchildren: Albert (Yury Vargas) Brown, Zane (Kaitlyn) Brown, Alaina (Jacob) Tharp, Carter Brown, Allison (Clay) Scott, Logan (Emily Bookless) Rasor, Callie (Kyle Kuhn) Kirkbride, and Coy Kirkbride; great-grandchildren: Jase Tharp, Jordan Tharp, Jemma Tharp, Emerson Brown, and Stetson Scott. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, as well as special cousins Rebecca Palmerton, Paula Steele, Donna Hood, and Rich Stafford. Jennie treasured her faithful canine companion, Baxter.

She was a member of Market Street Baptist Church in Zanesville and previously the Washington Township Baptist Church.

The family wishes to thank Shriver’s Hospice for providing Jennie compassionate care in her home. Jennie’s family has chosen to mourn her passing with a private service at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband Harold (Whitey) at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
