Jerome J. Goodman, 85, of Zanesville, died at noon Sunday, November 16, 2008 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born April 2, 1923, in Zanesville, a son of the late Abraham and Cecelia Rubin Goodman. Jerome was a 3rd generation owner/operator and bookkeeper of Goodman Steel for 61 years. He received his degree in Accounting from Miami University of Ohio. He was a member of the Beth Abraham Synagogue, Elks Club and Zanesville Country Club. His curiosity about the world led to his many travels and he played the northern most and southern most golf courses. He was a US Army World War II Veteran. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Annette Glick Goodman, whom he married July 11, 1948, of the home; a daughter, Janice (Kurt) Downing of Dublin, Ohio; two sons, Edward N. (Lenette) Goodman of Derwood, Maryland and Henry M. (Beverly) Goodman of Zanesville; 5 grandchildren, Andrea (Keith) Weber, Sherry (Mike) McGrath, Alicia (Jason) Luckey, Abe J. (Amy) Goodman and Jacklyn Downing; 4 great grandchildren, Max Weber, Isaac Luckey, Anthony Weber and Eli McGrath. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor White. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville with Rabbi Jeffrey Elson officiating. His proudest achievement in life was his family, who's legacy will continue to live on for years to come.
