Jerry D. Vanoster Sr., 63, of Zanesville, died at 5:09 p.m. Monday, November 16, 2009 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 10, 1946, in Malta, a son of the late Dale E. and Evelyn Rouanzion Vanoster. He retired after 46 years of service as a machinist for Lear Corp. and was a United States Army Vietnam Veteran. Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Josephine McGee Vanoster, whom he married June 7, 1972, of the home; a son, Jerry Vanoster Jr. of Zanesville; a sister, Donna Dutro of Stockport; and a half sister, Wava (David) Teeters of Zanesville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale Jr. and Dana Vanoster. No calling hours will be observed. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Greenwood Cemetery with Dr. E. Wayne Stout officiating. Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville is entrusted with all arrangements.
