Joan Louise Jordan, 80, of Nashport, died on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at her home. She was born July 28, 1931 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Lawrence and Blanche Brown Schaffer. She attended The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints. She retired as a seamstress after ten years with New Look Fashion. Surviving are her husband of eleven years, Matthew Joseph Jordan, whom she married June 24, 2000; three daughters, Sharron (Donald) Phillip of Kempton, PA, Patsy (Bennie) Foggin of Frazeysburg and Debbie Shaffer of Piqua, OH.; two sons, Jerry Ryan of Nashport, and Steven (Sue) Ryan of Groveport, OH.; a son-in-law, Robert Smith of Hopewell; seventeen grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and god son, Brian Murphy; three sisters, Nancy, Norma, and Mary Margaret; four brothers- in-law, Greg (Janie) Jordan, Andy (Cathy) Jordan, Bill (Karon) Jordan and Jim (Mary) Jordan; and five sisters-in-law, Janet (Phil) Murphy, Anita (Bob) Fox, Rosemary Jordan, Martha Jordan and Jane Toney; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Vicki Smith, a daughter-in-law, Sue Ryan; three brothers, Lewis, David and Lawrence Schaffer; a sister, Betty Brooks. Friends and family may call from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. No funeral service will be held, a dignified cremation will take place.
