Joel Steven Hardbarger, 56, of Zanesville, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2007 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born February 15, 1951, in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, a son of the late Bill and Mattie Hardbarger. He was formerly employed at N.C.R., Anchor Hocking, Burnham, Columbia Cement and Racine Hydraulics. He also worked in the oil well business and contracted for marine surveying. He is survived by a son, Michael (Heidi) Hardbarger of Dresden; two brothers, Rob and Tim; a sister, Kim; an aunt, Catherine of Beckley, West Virginia; granddaughters, Cassidy, Caylen and Callie; several nieces and nephews; former wife, Joyce and many friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald; a sister, Monica and several aunts and uncles. Friends may call 1 hour prior to services which will be held at 5:00 p.m. Monday, November 12, 2007 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville with Pastor Dean Cole officiating.
