John E. Brady

John E. (Jack) Brady 93 of Zanesville was reunited with his loving wife Alberta on October 8, 2012. Jack was born March 31, 1919 in Bridgeport, Conn to John E and Mary Brady. He was retired from General Electric Co where he served as an accountant for 37 years. Jack was a loving father, grand-father and great-grandfather. He enjoyed his daily meetings with friends at McDonald's, playing cribbage at the American Legion and sharing lottery tickets at Colony Square Mall. Jack was a Navy veteran of WWII, a Kentucky Colonel, a lifetime member of the Elks, a longtime member of St Nicholas Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus #505 and the Green Valley Senior Golf League. He is survived by his children Kathy (Jeff) Shawger, Beth (Tom) Brandon and Jack (Holly) Brady all of Zanesville. He will also be supporting from Heaven his ten grandchildren, Chad (Jane) Shawger, Kyle (Megan) Shawger, Ashley (Kevin) Jones, Erin VanDusen, Krista (Lionel) Norman, Josh (Kathryn) Brandon, Ryan Roush, Matt (Rochelle) Brady, Sean Brady and Samantha Brady. Also now having a new angel to pray to are his 17 great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Katie, Ty and Jessica Shawger, Kane, Lakyn and Saige Shawger, Aeden and Alexa Norman, Lucas Brandon and Jasmine, Josh and Jaxon Headley, and Brennen and Gabrielle Jones. Jack is also survived by three sisters, Mildred O'Hara, Grace Argenio and Shirley Selberg; many loving nieces and nephews; and his friend of ten years, Brutus. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joslin Diabetes Center: 1 Joslin Place, Boston MA, 02215. Calling hours will be from 2-4:00 P.M. and 6-8:00 P.M. at Bolin Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, on Wednesday October 10th with a Vigil Service being held at 7:45 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, October 11, 2012 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with Father Martin Ralko as the celebrant, followed by a burial with full military honors at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
