John E. Daniel Sr.

John E. Daniel Sr., 86, of Zanesville, died at 12:58 P.M. Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House. He was born July 11, 1929 in Fultonham a son of the late Edward and Bessie Saxton Daniel. He was a millwright for the Millwright Local 267 for 38 years, was a member of Adamsville United Methodist Church, a United States Air Force Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict, a Past Master of the Hubbard Lodge # 220 F&AM, Laura Chapter of Eastern Star # 220, served as Past Worthy Patron nine different times, Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge and York Rite. Surviving are two sons, John E. (Kathryn) Daniel Jr. of Zanesville and Denver Daniel of Coshocton; two daughters, Christina Cochrane of Pickerington and Robin Barr of Zanesville; ten grandchildren, Heath Daniel, Cody Daniel, Kyle (Nicol) Addy, Katrina (Jason) Derry, Sabrina (Eric) Steinhoff, Laramie (Kristen) Barr, Landon (Amanda) Barr, Katlyn Barr, Morgan Daniel and Molly Daniel; ten great grandchildren, Matthew, Tyler, Austin, Jackson, Abigail, Alyssa, Addison, Brelynn, Logan and Ethan and a sister, Nancy Sagle of Zanesville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years, Ada Bunting Daniel, who died the same day twenty one years ago, July 18, 1994, two sisters, Annalee Wilkinson and Wanda Shirer; a brother, Ronald Daniel. Friends and family may call from 6-8 P.M. Monday, July 20, 2015 at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE where services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 21, 2015 with Pastor Sharon Williamson officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Ada, at St. Paul Cemetery in Sonora with full military honors being presented by the United States Air Force in conjunction with the VFW George Selsam Post 1058.
