John E. Hall

John E. Hall, 74, of Zanesville, died at 12:08 P.M. on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Genesis Hospital Emergency Room.  He was born June 26, 1950, in Zanesville, a son of the late Russell and Francis Pauline (Walker) Hall. John was a 1968 graduate of Zanesville High School and was on the 1968 undefeated Blue Devils football team. He was the owner and operator of Hall Upholstery for over fifty years, he enjoyed golfing and gardening, rooting for the Buckeyes and the Bengals and he dearly loved his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife Tommy Sue Hall whom he married July 2, 2004; two children, Wendy Hall and Misty (Pat Smith) Hall; step son, Eric T. McGrail; four grandchildren, Dylan, Bo, Alyssa and Tori; two step grandchildren, Skyler Paige and Zack; two brothers, Jeff Hall and Joel (Deb) Hall; a sister, Susie (Neil) Williams; special friend, Bity Ervin; and many loved nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife, Carol (Moore) Hall; a sister, Cheryl Stephenson and a sister-in-law, Mary Hall.

Friends and family may call from 12:00-2:00 P.M. on Monday, July 1, 2024, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE. Following visitation all are welcome to join the family at the American Legion, 27 S. 3rd St. Zanesville, OH. 43701, for a time of food and fellowship to celebrate John’s life.
