John V. Minosky, 89, of Zanesville, died on Friday, October 28, 2022, at Genesis Hospital, Zanesville. He was born November 19, 1932 in Ava, Ohio to the late Pete and Susie (Frajdy) Minosky.
He retired from the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier after 28 years of service. John was a Catholic by faith, a US Army Korean Conflict Veteran, a member of the American Legion Post 29, Orange City Lyons Club, and loved bowling and golf. John also enjoyed growing orchids, wine making, blood donor and spending time with his family which was the most important thing in his life.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years Ruth (Roberts) Minosky whom he married September 15,1979; six sons, Mike Minosky, Brian (Kim) Minosky, Phil (Lisa) Minosky, Kevin (Theresa) Minosky, Steve (Lois) Minosky, Tim (Melanie) Minosky; one daughter Susan (Dennis) Jendry; eleven grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Jim Minosky; one brother Ron Minosky; two sisters Irene Muth and JoAnn Tipton.
Calling hours will be 2:00-4:00 P.M. and 6:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME 1271 BLUE AVE. ZANESVILLE and one hour prior to funeral services at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 with Pastor Dean Cole officiating at. He will be laid to rest at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Zanesville with full Military Honors provided by the United States Army and VFW George Selsam Post 1058.
