John G. Mock

John G. Mock, 85, of Zanesville, died at 5:18 a.m. on October 9, 2012 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born on December 26, 1926 to the late Charles S. and Mary V. Wilson Mock. John was a locally well known cabinetry designer and maker for over 50 years. He was a sixty year member of Grace United Methodist Church where he had served as a past Board of Trustee member. John was a past member of National Homebuilders Association and a past executive committee member of the National Soap Box Derby. John is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Mary Ruth Green Mock, whom he married on March 30, 1947; a daughter, Deborah (William) Howard; three sons, Jeffrey (Mitzi) Mock, Robert (Norma) Mock and Gregory Mock all of Zanesville; ten grandchildren, Erica (Shawn) Jones, Kristy (Justin) Meddings, Kimberly (Colin) Truemper, Jodi (William) Wolfe, Lori Khune, Kensie and Kaustin Mock, Alexandria, Marissa and Johnathon Mock; nine great- grandchildren, Eric and Jeffery Ours, Dakota and Rhett Jones, Koen and Kaley Meddings, Kyle and Hayli Khune and Liam Wolfe; three brothers, Lee B. Mock, Wilbur C. (June) Mock, Philip H. (Darliss) Mock; a sister, Mary Ruth Eppley Howell; a sister-in-law, Eva M. Moorehead; brothers-in-law, Russell C. Moorehead and Harry D. Ross; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Martha H. Stahl; daughter-in-law, Heather H. Mock; two sisters-in-law, Alita H. Mock and Anna R. Ross; and two brothers-in-law, Richard Eppley and Forrest Howell. Friends and family may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, October 11, 2012 and one hour prior to the funeral service at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville where the funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 12, 2012 with Rev. Steve McGuire. John will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 516 Shinnick Street, Zanesville, OH 43701.
