John R Rehl

John Ralph Rehl, 86, of Zanesville, died at 7:43 p.m. Monday, October 18, 2010 at the Emeritus at North Hills. He was born July 6, 1924, in Zanesville, a son of the late William G. and Christina Behnlein Rehl. He retired in 1976 as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. He was a longtime musician and was a member of the Muskingum County Music Group Hall of Fame. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and was a server of others. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn M. Gardner Rehl, whom he married October 3, 1976, of the home; a brother, William George Rehl of Zanesville; two step grandsons, Dean and Jeffrey Emmert, both of New Castle, Wyoming; and several step great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Rebecca R. Scharr Rehl, who died April 10, 1972. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 21, 2010 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 22, 2010 at the funeral home with Dr. E. Wayne Stout officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
