John R. Snider

John R. (Dick) Snider, 85, of Zanesville, died at 10:23 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2009 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born April 4, 1924, in Zanesville, a son of the late John Jay and Louise Burkart Snider. He retired as a foreman supervisor for Cooper Industries formerly Line Material and later McGraw Edison. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus at St. Nicholas and was a United States World War II Army Veteran. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Audrey Billman Snider, of the home, whom he married May 10, 1947; a son, Mark R. (Lori) Snider of Pataskala; six grandchildren, Jason Snider, Aaron Teters, Travis Teters, Isabella Snider, Zoe Rankin, and Benjamin Rankin; and a great grandson, Eli Snider. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Jo Teters; and two brothers, Robert Snider and Carroll Snider. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2009 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville where a vigil service will be held at 2:00 p.m. with The Rev. Mr. B.N. Peterson officiating. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 925 Main St., Zanesville with Father Leo Connolly as celebrant. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
