John E. Wagler

John Wagler, 88 (known as Johnny to his family) was born Nov 12, 1935 to Enos and Catherine Overholt Wagler in Hartville, Ohio. He died in Cambridge, Ohio, on November 27, 2023. He is survived by his son, John Jamin, his sisters Marjorie, Lois, Rhodora and Kari, and his brothers Phil, Mark and Paul, and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ingrid Buch Wagler, and his infant daughter, Lila, and his sisters Jean, Miriam and Dorcas.

John graduated from Ohio State Medical School, followed by residencies in surgery, pathology and psychiatry. He also became a pastor and a writer later in his life. He had many interests, including holistic health, flying small planes, riding bicycle, playing ping-pong, singing and playing guitar. Most important to him was his spiritual commitment to his Lord Jesus Christ.  For the past number of years he was very involved with his close friends and church family at Muskingum Valley Vineyard Church.

A private funeral was held at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE
