John W. Young Sr.81, of Zanesville, died at 3:15 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2006 at Ohio State University Hospital, Columbus. He was born September 6, 1924 in Blue Rock, a son of the late John T. And Ida Burslar Young. He was a conductor for B&O Railroad, The Chessie System and retired from CSX Railroad after 44 years of service. John loved to fish, golf, he got a hole-in-one at the Jaycee's Golf Course in 1961 and was an avid woodworker making various pieces of furniture. Surviving is his loving wife, Clara Glasscock Young, whom he married September 4, 1947, of the home, three sons, John (Pamela) Young of Zanesville, Michael Young of Newark and James (Darla) Young of Zanesville, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Huntsman. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2006 with Pastor Ed Clifton officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.
