Johnnie Ralph Boykin, 68, of Zanesville, died at 3:00 p.m. Monday, May 25, 2009 at Adams Lane Care Center. He was born February 9, 1941, in Wilson, North Carolina, a son of Nellie Davis Boykin of Zanesville and the late Johnnie W. Boykin. He was a retired assembly line worker for McGraw Edison. He was a member of Eagles Lodge #302 and American Legion Post #29. Surviving in addition to his mother, are his wife of 40 years, Elizabeth A. Kelly Boykin, whom he married February 8, 1969, of the home; a son, Jeff (Annette) Boykin of Zanesville; two daughters, Joy (David) Howiler of Nashport and Tawnya (Michael) Wilson of Zanesville; 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; three sisters, Ann (Mark) Boykin of Zanesville, Margie McLean of North Ft. Myers, Florida and Lois (Tom) Tucker of Frazeysburg; two brothers, Howard (Kathy) Boykin of Thornville and Keith Boykin of Zanesville; and many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Kenny Boykin; and a special friend, Paul Fesler. No calling hours will be observed. Inurnment will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2009 at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Carl Barker officiating. Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville is entrusted with all arrangements.
