Johnye B. Echols, 82, of Zanesville, died at 7:05 P.M. on Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at her home. She was born December 7, 1930, a daughter of the late George E. and Alta Davis Boswell. Johnye was an artist who taught in San Antonio, Texas, was a Southern Baptist by faith, a member of the Quilt Guild in Zanesville, and was a volunteer for six years at Bethesda and Good Samaritan Hospital. She loved gardening. Surviving are a sister, Mary Nell Pettitt of Texas; a niece, Peggy (Ken) Corbin of Zanesville; and many other loving nieces and nephews in Texas and California. She will be missed by her close friends in Dallas, San Antonio, and Ohio. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Ray Echols; three brothers, Bob, Cecil, and Rex; and sisters, Doris and Grace. Per Johnye's request, she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Ray, at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas.
