Joseph Wendell Batteiger

Joseph Wendell Batteiger, 74, of Zanesville, died at 2:08 p.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Genesis Good Samaritan emergency room. He was born October 12, 1936, in Zanesville, a son of the late Joseph W. and Carrie G. Lunn Batteiger. He retired after 46 years of service as a mold maker for Anchor Glass. He attended Trinity Full Gospel Church and was a member of Eagles Lodge #302. Joe was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all of us who loved him. Surviving are his wife of 18 years, Claudia J. Hester Batteiger, of the home; a son, LeRoy Batteiger of the home; a daughter, Leslie (Roy) Hill; five grandchildren, Danny, Tyler, Matthew, Raelyn and Joanna and four great grandchildren, all of Zanesville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Grace M. Bagent Batteiger. Friends and family may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 21, 2011 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 22, 2011 at the funeral home with Rev. Terry L. Rowland officiating. Joe will be laid to rest in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Zanesville.
