Joseph W. Cooper, 73, of Zanesville, Ohio, died at 3:24 p.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2004 at Genesis Bethesda Hospital. He gave the gift of life as a organ donor. He was born August 20, 1931, in Pittsburgh, PA., the son of the late Carl E. & Josephine Wilbert Cooper. Mr. Cooper was the former owner and operator of the Dillon Falls Store, an Air Force Veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars, a member of the Malta Masonic Lodge # 131 F.&AM at Grand Forks N. D., a member of the Scottish Rite of Memphis, Orient of Tennessee, and the AAHMES Temple at Oakland CA. Surviving are his wife, Gertrud "Bobbie" Hauber Cooper of the home, a son and daughter in-law, Michael and Shari Cooper of Carroll Ohio, a sister and brother in-law, Patricia K. & James Pattison of Washington, PA., two grandchildren, Tyler and Sarah Cooper of Carroll Ohio. Friends may call 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 3, 2004 at the Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 4, 2004 at the funeral home with the Rev. Ray Morrison officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park with military services conducted by VFW George Selsam Post 1058. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Falls Township Fire Department.
