Joseph F. Greulich

Joseph F. Greulich, 87, of Columbus, died at 11:41 a.m. Monday, February 06, 2012 at Trillium Place Assisted Living in Columbus. He was born August 16, 1924, in Zanesville, a son of the late Charles and Ethel Mock Greulich. He retired after 33 ½ years of service as a sales person of the yellow pages division for Ohio Bell Telephone Company and then retired after 15 years of service as a security officer for Nationwide Insurance. He was a member of St. Patricks Catholic Church, United Commercial Travelers, Columbus Telephone Pioneers and American Legion Post #82. He was a charter member and past vice president of the Columbus Downtown Civitan Club. He was a United States Marine Corps World War II Veteran, serving with the 1st Marine Division in the Pacific Theatre. Surviving are a daughter, Mary Ann Greulich of Worthington; a son, Larry Greulich of Zanesville; four grandchildren, Danielle Greulich, Kelly Greulich, Kyle Greulich and Shane Greulich; and a great granddaughter, Makayla Thompson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann Lippincott Greulich, who died July 30, 1996; a daughter-in-law, Tamera Greulich, who died December 13, 2006; a brother, Charles Greulich; and a sister, Mary Catherine Boran. Friends and family may call from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, February 9, 2012 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville where Rosary Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 10, 2012 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 144 N 5th St., Zanesville with Father Stephen D. Hayes, O.P. as celebrant. Joseph will be laid to rest next to his wife, Ruth Ann, at Mt. Olive Cemetery. The United States Marine Corps in conjunction with VFW George Selsam Post #1058 will hold full military rites at the graveside.
