Joseph Charles Polk, 75, of Zanesville, died at 9:56 P.M. Saturday, May 28, 2016, at Select Specialty Hospital, Newark. He was born July 6, 1940, in Zanesville a son of the late Joseph John and Norma May (Underhill) Polk. Joe was a self-employed truck driver, he retired from Brockway Glass after 30 years of service and worked for the Falls Township maintaining the township cemeteries. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of Vietnam and a member of the Rushing Winds Biker Church. Surviving are children, Noelle Rardon, Justin (Tammy) Polk and Nicole (Caleb) Barr all of Zanesville and Natasha (Nick) Turner of Heath; five grandchildren; Anthany Mayle, Lakota Marshall, Justin J.C. Polk, Makenna Polk and Giada Barr; a brother, James (Diana) Polk of Zanesville; the mother of his children, Norma Lee Polk of Zanesville; a special nephew, Vance (Michele) Carpenter of Zanesville and his companion, Sue Ellis of Zanesville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jenny Polk. Friends and family may call from 4-8 P.M. Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at BOLIN-DIERKES FUENRAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, where funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 1, 2016, with his daughter, Rev. Natasha Turner and Rev. Mike McGuire officiating. He will be laid to rest at Williams Cemetery, Zanesville with full military honors to be presented by The United States Army in conjunction with the VFW George Selsam Post 1058 and the American Legion Post 29. Dignified and professional services are being provided by Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home.
