Josephine J. (Mccutcheon) Sheets

Josephine J. Sheets, 87, of Zanesville, died at 7:20 A.M. on Thursday, July 24, 2014, at the Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born May 7, 1927, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late William and Clarice Moore McCutcheon. She had worked in Housekeeping at Riverside Hospital, was a member of the Apostolic Gospel Church, and had previously attended the Pentecostal Assembly Church in Columbus. Josephine enjoyed sewing, playing her organ, and gospel songs. Surviving are a sister, Bessie (Max) Hittle of Dresden; two brothers, Glenn McCutcheon of Zanesville and Ed (Sylvia) McCutcheon Upato, GA; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Carl Sheets, who died in 1997; four sisters, Sally Hampton, Peggy Schneider, Helen Shankle, and Wanda McCutcheon; and two brothers, Joseph and William McCutcheon. Friends and family may call from 2:00-5:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 27, 2014, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, where funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Monday, July 28, 2014, with Pastor John Kotsanos of Calvary Pentecostal Church of Steubenville officiating. She will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Genesis Hospice-Morrison House: 713 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio 43701.
