Juanita M. Paxson

August 2, 1934 — January 7, 2007

On January 7, 2007, Juanita M. Paxson, age 72, of Juanita's Restaurant, lost her lengthy battle with cancer. She was ill on and off for almost two years. She was born August 2, 1934, the daughter of Gerald Grubb and the late Luella Walsh Grubb Goodman. Juanita was the longtime owner of Juanita's Restaurant, was a member of the V.F.W. George Selsam Post 1058 Auxiliary, a member of the Eagles Lodge #302 Auxiliary and the American Legion Post 29 Auxiliary. Surviving are her father, Gerald Grubb and the father of her five children, Kenneth O. (Sharon) Paxson, Cheryl (Delbert) Moody, Teri Paxson and life partner Diana Colburn, Orville (Martha) Paxson, Tia (Ray) Slack, and Kenny (Lisa) Paxson. Brothers and sisters, Robert (Shirlee) Grubb, Shirley Ann Rice, Geri (Ronald) Wos, Richard (Patty) Grubb; grandchildren, Chad Paxson, Shanda Stewart, Melisa Rush, Jeremy Moody, Courtney Moody, Kenneth Paxson II, Aaron Paxson, Tashia Paxson, Trent Paxson, Tabitha Paxson, Dillon Paxson and Cydney Paxson; seventeen great grandchildren and 23 nieces and nephews. A very special lifelong friend, Frances and Russ Morrison and family. Frances's son Keith Barnhart passed away recently. Frances will always be a part of Juanita's family. Juanita was a prominent Business women in our community who never failed to serve you when you were hungry or in need. She started her business in 1982 on the East Pike at the Greenlawn Restaurant and grew to four-three in Zanesville and one in Heath. Besides her mother Luella Walsh Grubb Goodman, she was preceded in death by brother in-law, Gene Rice and niece Tami Rice and a special friend and life partner Robert Gibson. Also numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at the funeral home with Pastor L. Dale McCallister officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park with food and fellowship to follow at the Eagles Lodge.
