Julia L. (Lee) Granger

February 4, 1926 — May 10, 2016

Julia Lee Granger, 90, of Zanesville, died at 11:13 P.M. Tuesday, May 10, 2016, after a period of declining health at Brookdale of Zanesville. She was born February 4, 1926, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late George and Nellie Lawrence Lee. She was a 1944 graduate of Zanesville Lash High School, graduated from Meredith Business College, and her first job was at First National Bank. She retired as a clerk for the Muskingum County Court, and was a lifelong member of Grace United Methodist Church and Pleasant Grove Grange. In earlier years she enjoyed many bus trips throughout the county with friends. She is survived by a sister Alice (Duane) Smith of Newcomerstown; two nephews, Richard (Angela) Smith of Orrville and Ronald (Terri) Smith of Dover; three great nephews, Joshua, Jason and Hunter Smith; a great niece Nicole Sears; a special cousin Paula Todd; and a special friend Carol Ann Ackers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John Jack E. Granger, whom she married September 16, 1951, and who died February 16, 2009. Friends and family may call from 11:00 A.M. until the funeral service which will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, May 13, 2016, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, with Pastor Mark Chow officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Jack at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville.
