June E. LaMay, 86, of Zanesville, died at 3:40 A.M. on Monday, July 17, 2017, at Genesis Hospital, Zanesville. She was born July 12, 1931, in Zanesville, daughter of the late William and Gertrude Church Long. She was a lifetime resident of Zanesville and a nursing technician with Good Samaritan Hospital. June was also a member of Westwood Baptist Church for over thirty years, past president of FOE #302 Auxiliary, and a member of American Legion Post 29 Auxiliary for over forty years. She is survived by a daughter, Jenilee LaMay of the home; a son, Robert C. (Dru) LaMay, Jr. of Zanesville; three grandchildren, Erik D. LaMay, Kalib LaMay, and Mitchell LaMay; two great-grandchildren, Khole Lynn and Kendra Ann LaMay; and a sister, Anna Mae Spencer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. LaMay, Sr. whom she married May 26, 1950 and died in 1997; two sisters, Joan Campfield, and Patricia Pierce; two brothers, William D. Long, Jr. and Ralph Long; and a best friend, Darlene Stemm. Per Junes request, a Cremation-With-Care has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held Friday, July 21, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Mark Ballmer officiating at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home & Crematory, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, OH. She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery, Sonora.
