Kathryn (Pickrell) Koonts

Kathryn L. Koonts, 93, previously of 2341 Linden Avenue in Zanesville died at 12:55P.M. on Sunday April 7, 2013 at Autumn Health Care in Somerset, Ohio. Born November 4, 1919, at Roseville she was the daughter of Clyde and Nora Hamilton Pickrell. She spent most of her life in Zanesville and was retired from Good Samaritan Hospital and Mosaic Tile. She was a long time member of Euclid Avenue United Methodist Church. She was an inspiration to her two sons Steven Koonts of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Manley Koonts of Palm Coast, Florida by leading them and guiding them in their daily lives; she is also survived by a daughter-in-law Wanda Koonts of Nacogdoches, Texas and by 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She is now at peace with the Lord and joins her husband of 51 years Wayne C. Koonts who preceded her in death in 1993 as well as her 2 sisters and 4 brothers. Friends and family may call from 4:00P.M- 8:00P.M. on Thursday April 11, 2013 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville with funeral services to be held at 9:00A.M. on Friday , April 12, 2013 at the funeral home, with Chaplain Mark Pierce officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Wayne, at Zanesville Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the sons are asking for donations to Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Road, Newark, Ohio 43055, who have been such an integral part of her life during these past few days, or to Autumn Health Care of Somerset, 411 Columbus Street, Somerset, Ohio 43783.
