Kathryn L. Johnson, 86, of Zanesville, died at 4:55 a.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House. She was born May 5, 1923, in Meigs Township in Muskingum County, a daughter of the late Howard S. and N. Marie Stewart Johnson. She graduated from Meigs High School Class of 1941 and Meredith Business College. She retired in 1987 after 40 years of service as a payroll clerk for the Central Silica Company. She was a member of the First Baptist Church for over 60 years, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, church clerk and for many years gave leadership to the youth and the Priscilla Missionary Circle. She also was an officer for the American Baptist Women of the Zanesville Association. Surviving are a sister, Helen (Loren) Anderson of South Zanesville, retired missionaries in Guatemala; four nephews, Kenneth (Lori) Anderson of Golden, Colorado, Ron (Brenda) Anderson, missionaries in Spain, Paul (Kathy) Anderson of Henderson, Nevada and Mark (Shirley) Anderson of San Diego, California; four great nieces, Rachel (BJ) Whitaker, missionaries in Spain, Jenny (Phil) Biddulph of Irmo, South Carolina and Sarah and Lauren Anderson, both of Golden, Colorado; a great nephew, Mark R. Anderson of Spain; one great-great niece; and three cousins, Don (Chris) Cronin of Chandlersville, Carol Hecker of White Cottage and Lucille Echelberry of Zanesville. Friends may call 3-6 p.m. Thursday, February 18, 2010 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Friends may also call one hour prior to funeral service to be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 19, 2010 at the First Baptist Church, 105 S 6th St., Zanesville with Pastor Joe Seese and Rev. Reginald Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Ark Springs Cemetery, Cumberland, Ohio.
