Kathryn Jean (Bowers) Overman

Kathryn Jean Overman, 98, of Zanesville, died at 7:04 A.M. on Sunday, December 27, 2015, at her home. She was born October 24, 1917, in Detroit, MI, a daughter of the late John Benjamin and Ruth Richards Bowers. She had worked in the admitting office at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital for 17 years, was Secretary for YWCA, was a member of Senior Citizens Club #1 and Central Trinity United Methodist Church, and was an avid reader. She is survived by a son John Edward (Antoinette) Overman of Port Hadlock, WA; two daughters, Jane Ellen Laughlin of Zanesville and Susan Elaine McCool of Sumter, SC; eleven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Irvin Overman who died December 3, 1973; a sister Carol Snow; and two sons-in-law David Laughlin and James McCool. Friends and family may call from 11:00 A.M. until the funeral service at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 31, 2015, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, with Dr. L. Steven Fewell officiating, assisted by Rev. Tom England. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband Robert at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville.
