Kathryn D. Williams, 79, of Zanesville, died at 1:55 p.m. Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at Summerville at North Hills. She was born January 19, 1930, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Carl and Gertrude White O'Bannon. She retired after 22 years of service as a cook for West Muskingum High School. She was a member of Coburn United Methodist Church, Coburn United Methodist Church Women's Circle and the Salvation Army Auxiliary. Kathryn will be remembered for her love of reading, puzzles and playing cards. However, she was most proud of her children and family whom she treasured. Surviving are two daughters, Debra (Larry) Lake and their son, Andrew of Hilliard and Dee (John) Williams and their daughter, Michelle and son, Mitchell of Grove City; three sons, David (Terri) Williams and their daughters, Naomi, Annie and Suzie and sons Gabriel and Seth of Littleton, ME., Dean (Vickie) Williams and daughter, Deania ( Phillip) Russo of Charlotte, N.C. and son, John Williams of Zanesville, and Derek (Cindy) Williams and their daughter, Sara of Zanesville; two sisters, Gloria Jones of Clemson, S.C., and Dorothy Hill of Zanesville; many nieces and nephews; and her loving companion, Phoenix the dog. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles N. Williams, who died September 22, 2001; a sister, Ruth McAfee; and a brother, Jess O'Bannon. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday, August 7, 2009 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville and one hour prior to services at the church. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 8, 2009 at the Coburn United Methodist Church, 3618 Maple Ave., Zanesville with Rev. Doris Flynn officiating. Burial will follow at Williams Cemetery, Zanesville. The family would like to thank all of the special people that cared for Kathryn.
