Kay Orval "K.O." Black, 66, of McConnelsville, died at 7:32 p.m. Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at Hospice of Central Ohio, Newark. He was born March 4, 1940, in Cumberland, a son of the late Orval Black and Ethel Ghrist Black-Kite. He retired from Central Ohio Coal Company, was a member of LaFayette Lodge # 79 F & AM, Amrou Grotto, Aladdin Shriners A.A.O.N.M.S. of Columbus, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Lodge Council Chapter Consistory Valley of Cambridge and the Ohio State Grange. K.O.'s great love was fishing. Surviving are a son, James W. Black of Zanesville; a grandson, Jonathon J. Black of Norwich and a brother, Jim Black of Cambridge. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 27, 2006 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville with Fr. Leo Connolly officiating. Entombment will take place at Zanesville Memorial Park. Friends may call one hour prior to services.
