Kenneth L. Berwinkle

Kenneth L. Berwinkle, 80, of Zanesville, died at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House. He was born October 17, 1926, in Belmont County, Ohio, a son of the late Lee F. and Catherine Mason Berwinkle. He was employed for 43 years as an employee of Brockway Glass Company and dedicated president of local GPPAW #159 from 1954-1986. He was a member of First Christian Church and Eagles #302. Kenneth was a WWII Army veteran, an avid fisherman and hunter, enjoyed golf and watching his grandchildren and great children play ball. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Jane Merriam Berwinkle, whom he married June 12, 1948, of the home; a daughter, Nancy (John) Morrow of Zanesville; two grandchildren, Kelly (Tracy) Morrow and Kimberly (Larry) Paul, all of Zanesville; 5 great grandchildren, Paige Morrow, Peyton Morrow, Luke Morrow, Anna Marie and Alaina Grace Paul; a sister, Martha Jean Mahaney of Zanesville; two sisters-in-law; Helen (Ed) Moore and Dorothy Clark, all of Zanesville; loving dog, Maggie and good friends, Raymond (Spud) McHenry and Frank Blaney, both of Zanesville. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Margaret (Louie) Musselman. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2007 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2007 at the funeral home with Rev. Dawn Remster officiating. Burial will follow with full military honors being provided by VFW George Selsam Post 1058 at St. Paul Cemetery, Sonora.
