Kenneth R. Brookover

Kenneth R. Brookover, 89, of Zanesville died at 7: 45 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2006 at Willow Haven Care Center. He was born November 21, 1916, in Zanesville, the son of the late Will C. and Mary Roemer Brookover. Kenneth was an electrical engineer at the former Mc Graw Edison Co. ( retiring in 1983) and a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was a World War II Army Veteran serving in the 1st Special Service Force. Kenneth was the recipient of the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He was a life member of the DAV. Surviving are his wife, Rosanna J. Robinson Brookover, whom he married April 26, 1947, of the home; a daughter, Mary Ann Brookover, also of the home, six sons, Alan (Joy) Brookover of Mt. Juliet TN., Charles Brookover of Zanesville, William (Shelia) Brookover of Willow Spring, N.C., John (Kendra) Brookover of Zanesville, Phillip Brookover of Cary, N. C. and Stephen (Cyndy) Brookover of Toledo, Oh., eight grandchildren, Andrew Brookover, Christopher Brookover, Jennifer Clark, Andrea Brookover, Audra Brookover, Adam Brookover, Brian Brookover and Rebecca Brookover; a great grandson, Palmer Clark. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Virginia Ray and a brother Charles Brookover. Friends may call 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville, where funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2006 with the Rev. Joy French officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park. VFW George Selsam Post 1058 will hold full military rites at the gravesite. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church, Corner of Putnam and Pierce St., Zanesville, Ohio
